Fabrication and Weld Production Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

Directs and oversees production activities and personnel, specific to the Fabrication and Weld departments, and directs manufacturing flow within the facility.

Leads business process improvements to assure the order fulfillment process meets or exceeds customers’ expectations in lead-time and on-time delivery. Drives improved business profitability by implementing processes to support safety measures, quality initiatives and improve plant productivity.

• Contributes to Safety by being an active member of Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Safety Committee
• Develops, trains to, and enforces policies regarding safety requirements, company policies, and work procedures, production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
• Responsible for planning and reaching L1 Board production metrics
• Active role in Ergonomics team
• Develops labor and capital plans to achieve schedule and budget requirements
• Primary trainer for Supervisors regarding L4 Boards, PMB, KRONOS, KPI Spreadsheets, etc.
• Works with Supervisors to verify headcounts match departmental workload
• Works with Supervisors to ensure L4 Board countermeasures are being completed to result in metric attainment and issue resolution
• Leads daily production meeting and coordinates cross-functional department flow

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s Degree/Technical Degree in manufacturing or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 years Supervisory experience
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize workload to meet time constraints and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Capable of reading and interpreting engineering specifications, production work orders and related production work instructions
• Must be approachable and available
• Strong driver in developing a cohesive facility and fostering a learning environment
• Demonstrates expertise in interpersonal/oral communication and written skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and strong Oracle skills

The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $93,000 - $135,900 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Ramsey, MN and the actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in Life Fitness / Hammer Strength’s annual Manager Incentive Plan to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of bonus varies based on company and individual performance goals and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
