Responsibilities
- Permanent position for a Manufacturing Engineer supporting a consumer products company, advancing designs from the prototype stage through all the way to volume manufacturing.
- Act as the primary technical liaison connecting US-based design and program management groups with overseas contract manufacturers.
- Responsible for new product introduction, holding quality, cost, and schedule commitments across each production milestone.
- Review and sign off on factory standard operating procedures, quality control plans, and assembly and test fixtures for conformance to product specifications.
- Monitor daily output, analyze first-pass yield trends, and coordinate corrective and preventive action with factory quality staff.
- Lead structured root-cause investigations into thermal, mechanical, and cosmetic failures at the component and system level.
- Support tooling development and qualification across injection molding, sheet metal, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Build and maintain process documentation, including bills of materials, work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related.
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, REQUIRED.
- US-based with the ability to travel to overseas manufacturing sites roughly 50% of the time for extended stays.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD (Solid Works or CREO).
- Hands-on experience with injection molding, plastics, sheet metal, and electromechanical assembly.
- Experience leading root-cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why, or Fishbone methodologies.
- Working knowledge of first-pass yield metrics, CAPA processes, and production quality systems.
- Understanding of GD&T, DFMEA, and quality control methodologies.
- Consumer electronics/products experience a plus.
