Role and About MMTWe engineer precision equipment that powers the production of life-saving medical devices — from catheters and guide wires to advanced automation systems used by medical device manufacturers worldwide. Specializing in automation, machine design, material handling, and custom tooling, our team is driven by a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and solutions-oriented thinking. Every component our team builds has a purpose.
The RoleWe’re looking for a Mechanical Assembler I to join our Ramsey, NJ team. In this hands-on role, you’ll build high-quality, precision equipment from the ground up — working from blueprints and technical drawings to assemble components and subassemblies that meet exacting quality standards. If you take pride in craftsmanship and want to contribute to something bigger than the parts you assemble, we want to hear from you.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies into precision finished equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, bills of materials, and work instructions
- Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments (calipers, gauges, micrometers)
- Inspect and verify that completed assemblies meet quality standards and dimensional tolerances
- Identify, document, and escalate assembly discrepancies or non-conformances
- Support functional testing and troubleshooting of assembled units
- Maintain accurate build records, traveler documentation, and assembly logs
- Keep workstation organized, clean, and compliant with all safety protocols
- 1+ years of mechanical assembly or comparable hands-on manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed written work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
- Basic math skills — measurements, tolerances, and conversions
- Comfortable using hand tools and precision measuring equipment
- Team-oriented with solid communication skills and a solutions mindset
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Vocational or technical training in a related field is a plus.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires the ability to regularly stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift), with frequent use of hands for assembling small to medium-sized components, including fine motor skills and repetitive motions. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally (with assistance if needed).
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required to access equipment and materials. Visual acuity required for detailed inspection and assembly work, including use of magnification tools where applicable. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and production equipment. May involve exposure to dust, oils, coolants, and cleaning agents. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. Temperature conditions may vary. Overtime as needed based on production requirements.
