What You’ll Do

As a Machinist I, you’ll operate and support manual and CNC equipment to produce precision metal components. You’ll work under experienced machinists while building your technical capability.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Operating manual and CNC machines including lathes, mills, grinders, and drills
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
  • Setting up machines for production runs
  • Selecting appropriate tooling and adjusting speeds and feeds
  • Inspecting finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Recording production data including quantities, downtime, and scrap
  • Performing routine machine maintenance
  • Following all shop safety procedures

This is real machining work in a fast‑paced precision manufacturing environment.

Required

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, measurements)
  • Ability to read blueprints or willingness to develop the skill
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
Preferred
  • Trade school or vocational machining program
  • Prior machining experience
  • Familiarity with CNC operation

Some experience is helpful but not required. We provide training for motivated candidates.

Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and production equipment.
  • May involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles, soldering materials, and chemicals in ventilated areas.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
  • Temperature conditions may vary depending on facility.
  • May require overtime to meet production schedules.
Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
  • Frequent use of hands for assembling small to medium‑size components, including fine motor skills and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally (with assistance if needed).
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required to access equipment and materials.
  • Visual acuity required for detailed inspection, wiring, and soldering work, including use of magnification tools where applicable.
  • Occasional travel may be required based on business needs.
Compensation

This is a non‑exempt position and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and New Jersey law. This position is Pay Grade 4. The hourly pay range for this role is $22.13 – $32.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
