Join the team at Uncle Gs Marketplace in North Babylon and be part of a fast‑paced, customer‑focused Meat Department where quality and service come first! We're looking for a motivated and friendly FT Meat Clerk who enjoys working with fresh products, engaging with customers, and keeping the department looking its best. Weekend availability is required, as that's when our department is at its busiest and most exciting.

No butcher experience? No problem. While meat‑cutting experience is a plus, it's not required. What matters most is your positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

• Weigh, wrap, package, and label fresh meat and poultry products
• Assist the Meat Cutter with packaging and grinding meat as needed
• Receive and inspect deliveries to ensure all products meet quality standards
• Stock and rotate meat cases according to freshness and expiration dates
• Maintain clean, organized, and well‑merchandised displays
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, cases, coolers, and work areas
• Follow company policies, food safety guidelines, and sanitation procedures
• Support other departments as needed and complete additional duties as assigned

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous experience in a meat or fresh food department preferred (but not required)
• Familiarity with wrapping machines or willingness to learn
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while delivering outstanding customer service

This role is active and hands‑on, involving frequent standing, bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 30 lbs, heavier with assistance). You'll work indoors around refrigeration units, commercial equipment, and food preparation areas, with occasional exposure to temperature changes, noise, cleaning agents, and sharp tools.
