Field Service Project Engineer

Location

Based near Ramsey, NJ (Travel ~60%)

We are seeking a hands‑on Field Service Technician/Engineer with a strong mix of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience to support installation, startup, and maintenance of industrial equipment at customer sites. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in the field, solving real‑time equipment issues, and interacting directly with customers. An engineering degree is not required—practical, hands‑on experience is key.

• Perform on‑site installation, startup, and commissioning of industrial equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems (motors, pumps, VFDs, sensors, etc.)
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings
• Support preventative maintenance, equipment rebuilds, and system upgrades
• Provide technical support and training to customers during and after installation
• Diagnose issues with control systems, wiring, and instrumentation (e.g., 4–20mA signals)
• Document service activities, findings, and recommendations

• 3+ years of hands‑on field service, maintenance, or technician experience
• Strong experience with electrical systems (AC/DC, wiring, motors, VFDs)
• Solid mechanical troubleshooting skills (pumps, valves, pneumatics, etc.)
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and schematics
• Comfortable using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and test instruments
• Willingness to travel up to 60% (overnight travel required)

• Experience with industrial/process equipment (pharma, food, packaging, or similar)
• Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, or vacuum systems
• Basic exposure to PLC systems (troubleshooting only, not programming required)
• Knowledge of industry standards (NFPA, NEC, NEMA)
