Maintenance Technician III

The role’s primary accountability is to lead routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to support the safe and efficient operation of equipment and the facility.

Shift work. Under direct supervision of senior maintenance staff, the Maintenance Technician Level III will lead preventative maintenance and repairs of facility building and grounds. Operate utility equipment and support basic production requirements as training dictates. Use industry accepted best practices during execution of job function. Work schedule may vary to accommodate manufacturing/processing functions (occasional weekend shifts are possible).

This position is classified as “safety sensitive” and is subject to random drug testing.

• Must have trade school or other technical training.
• Must have at least five years of experience in a maintenance role or prior mechanical or construction experience.
• Must be able to use ladders and various hand and power tools as necessary in performing the essential job function.
• Must be able to follow safety guidelines.
• Must be able to lift, bend and carry up to 80 lbs. and follow safe lifting practices.
• Must be able to pass forklift operator certification.
• Must have or be willing to attain High Pressure Black Seal boiler operator license.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to maintain a record that is in good standing.
• Must show initiative and exhibit comprehension of instruction while also demonstrating a mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Must be cooperative and able to work as part of a team.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must be comfortable working independently.
• Must be willing to work additional hours as needed to complete repairs to accommodate business needs.

• Follows all Glatt SOP’s, cGMP’s policies and procedures.
• Participates in managing inventory of maintenance supplies and parts.
• Develops customer service, communication and teamwork skills with other technicians’ departments within the organization.
• Leads general building maintenance including but not limited to: minor carpentry, wall/ceiling repair, surface preparation and finish painting, plumbing fixture repair and drain cleaning.
• Advanced troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of Glatt’s utility systems including but not limited to: HVAC, steam and heat generating systems, purified water, compressed air and dust collection equipment.
• Leads preventative maintenance efforts of Glatt’s process equipment including but not limited to: fluid bed dryers, pan coaters, tablet presses, encapsulates and other ancillary equipment.
• Advanced troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of Glatt’s process equipment including but not limited to:
  Fluid bed dryers, pan coaters, tablet presses, encapsulators and other ancillary production equipment.
• Assists in metal parts fabrication or repair.
• Collaborates with others during more complex repairs or maintenance tasks requiring multiple individuals to complete.
• Constructs crates for shipment of equipment
• Assists other facility personnel in daily activities.
• Assists other GAT employees with labor intensive duties (i.e. moving furniture, boxes, etc.).
• Keeps supervisor informed of all developments on a routine basis.
• Completes required paperwork and documentation in a clear, accurate and timely manner.
• Maintains an organized and clean workspace at all times.
• Once trained, independently executes routine utility inspections.
• Mentors Level I and Level II technicians.
