Staff Accountant

Description

Responsibilities:

- Process payroll for a team of 25 employees, including union-related and public works job considerations.

- Perform detailed job costing to accurately allocate expenses and project budgets.

- Manage accounts payable and receivable tasks, including bill payments and record maintenance.

- Review and approve or decline client invoices based on established criteria.

- Handle bank deposits and manage receipt of funds efficiently.

- Conduct calculations for commissions and ensure timely disbursement.

- Audit invoices and coordinate vendor payments for approved and delivered materials.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; an associate degree with significant experience may be considered.

- Minimum of 3 years of detail-oriented accounting experience.

- Familiarity with payroll processing and job costing methods.

- Experience working in the construction industry is highly desirable.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively.

- Proficiency in financial software and tools for accounting tasks.
