Cost Accountant

Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with a a growing, manufacturing organization is seeking a Cost Accountant to support inventory, COGS, and manufacturing cost functions across multiple sites. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented accounting professional who thrives in a high‑reliability, production‑focused environment and who enjoys partnering with operations and senior leadership. Key Responsibilities

+ Perform month‑end close activities and prepare journal entries for inventory, COGS, and fixed assets

+ Reconcile inventory, cost of sales, and general ledger accounts

+ Analyze variances including purchase price variances and work order variances

+ Assist with inventory costing and related ERP activities

+ Support internal/external audits including SOX testing and annual reviews

+ Track capital expenditures, maintain fixed asset records, and handle prepaid amortization

+ Prepare business property tax filings and U.S. Census reporting

+ Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to internal accounting policies

Requirements

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field

+ 5+ years of cost accounting experience in an manufacturing or engineering environment.

+ Experience supporting medium‑to‑large accounting environments

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling)

+ Familiarity with ERP systems

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
