Lead Project Cost Accountant U.S. Citizenship Required (No Dual Citizenship)Are you an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment? We re looking for a Lead Project Cost Accountant to play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting complex government contracts, and driving process improvements within a collaborative accounting team.
What You'll Do- Lead revenue recognition activities under ASC 606
, including Contract Review Worksheets (CRWs) - Review contract setup within the ERP system
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and cost reclassifications
- Perform inventory net realizable value (NRV) assessments
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances
- Prepare quarterly Estimate-at-Completion (EAC) profit reporting and financial flux analysis
- Calculate and support monthly accruals, including warranty and program-related accruals
- Prepare corporate reporting schedules and HFM reporting packages
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Partner with internal and external auditors, including SOX compliance efforts
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis
- Bachelor s degree with 9+ years of relevant accounting experience, or
- Master s degree with 7+ years of experience, or
- 13+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
, ASC 606
, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) - Experience with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Experience supporting internal and external audits
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- CPA or active progress toward CPA preferred
- CPA certification
- Oracle ERP
- One Stream or similar account reconciliation software
- Government contracting or project-based accounting
