Accounting Specialist; Construction AP & AR

About the Role.

We are seeking a dependable & detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team.

This role supports our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions while working closely with Project Managers, vendors, customers, subcontractors, and fellow team members to help keep projects moving and our business running smoothly.

• Process Accounts Payable invoices, vendor payments, and subcontractor payments accurately and on time.
• Match invoices to purchase orders, receivers, and approvals while verifying cost codes and pricing.
• Prepare weekly check runs and maintain vendor records, W-9s, and compliance documentation.
• Collect and track conditional and unconditional lien releases.
• Prepare and process monthly progress billings and supporting customer billing packages.
• Post billings, approved change orders, and related accounting transactions in Viewpoint Spectrum.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable, maintain collection logs, and assist with payment follow-up.
• Set up new projects in the accounting system and maintain organized project and accounting records.
• Reconcile vendor statements and follow discrepancies through resolution.
• Communicate professionally with Project Managers, field personnel, vendors, customers, and subcontractors.
• Provide backup support to other members of the Accounting team and assist with approved process improvements.

• At least two years of relevant experience in construction Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Experience with progress billings, subcontractor payments, collections, lien releases, and job cost accounting.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency, including sorting and filtering data, maintaining formulas, and reconciling information from multiple reports.
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, or comparable PDF software.
• Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required;
  Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Compensation: $27.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.
