Roadway Construction Inspector
Dewberry is currently seeking a Roadway Construction Inspector to join our Transportation Group in Rancho Cordova, CA.

- Working knowledge of federally funded roadway construction in California, with a specific focus on inspection of asphalt paving/hot mix asphalt (HMA) overlays and traffic control.
- Proactive in identifying field issues and developing solutions to keep the work moving.
- Prepare and process construction records, including RFI’s, submittals, progress pay applications, extra work billings, and contract change orders.
- Document all field activities, work collaboratively with the owner and contractor, and represent Dewberry and our clients in the highest capacity.
- Familiarity with common computer programs such as MS Word and Excel for completing daily diaries, quantity calculations and other required tasks.
- 6+ years of experience.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred, but not required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Relevant project experience on transportation, utility, and Caltrans Local Assistance projects with proven results.
- Knowledge of Caltrans 2018 specifications, policies and procedures, HMA material testing methods, and roadway construction means and methods.
- Experience with night work, lane closures and COZEEP coordination a plus.
- Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.

Salary Range: $54.02/Hr.
- $75.00/Hr. (projected range; may vary slightly depending on skills, experience, location, market conditions). This position is covered under CA prevailing wage, and all applicable fringes will apply.
