    -205-day work year
  • $65,000-$85,000 annually (DOE and credential)

About the Role

Capitol Academy and Capitol Elementary are respected Non-Public Schools (NPS) serving students with diverse learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our collaborative, student-centered team.

We partner with local districts to provide individualized academic, behavioral, and social emotional support in small class settings where teachers truly make an impact.

What You'll Do

  • Provide individualized instruction aligned with each student's IEP
  • Manage classroom aides and collaborate with related service providers
  • Create an engaging, inclusive learning environment
  • Track and report student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
  • Communicate regularly with families and district partners
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Valid California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe)
  • Experience supporting students with autism and other developmental differences - preferred
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong classroom management and data collection abilities
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
  • A passion for teaching and a heart for helping students succeed
