Civil Engineer – Entry Level

Rancho Cordova, CA

Salary: USD 60,000.00 – 90,000.00 Annually

• Support senior staff on a variety of engineering projects mainly focused on water resource facilities and hydraulic structures (dams, spillways, outlet works, levees, and piped and channeled conveyance), design support for other heavy civil/geotechnical projects, reinforced concrete structure design, preparing construction drawings and specifications, construction cost estimating, design implementation and report preparation.
• Provide AutoCAD support to ongoing projects.
• Support evaluation and design efforts as part of a team by performing civil engineering modeling, drawing take-offs, analysis, and design calculations.
• Prepare technical memos, reports, technical specifications and other written documentation.
• Prepare cost estimates, schedules, construction plans and documents, and monitor construction activities in the field.
• Work under the leadership and mentoring of licensed professional engineers.
• Perform field work as needed to support projects.
• Provide support to proposal efforts.
• Travel to project sites and other offices as required, including overnight travel. Potentially work out of area on temporary assignments.

• B.S. in Civil Engineering.
• EIT Certification strongly preferred but not required.
• 0 to 4 years experience.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
• Excellent computer skills and proficient with MS Office, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ability to successfully formulate and execute technical assignments with minimal oversight and direction; desire to acquire and apply new skills and techniques with application to project assignments.
• Willing to perform field work as required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Work is predominantly sedentary with occasional needs for standing, walking, climbing, and carrying objects. Light to medium lifting (floor to waist) and pushing/pulling tasks are required. Visual and sensory requirements include near and far vision and hearing.
