Senior Civil Engineer – Project Management / Project Delivery
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Engineering Services Department as a Senior Civil Engineer. The role reports directly to the Principal Engineer and provides technical leadership and project management across capital projects.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical expertise and project oversight for complex capital projects.
- Assist associate and assistant engineers with project design, cost estimating, constructability review, and program planning.
- Prepare and deliver reports to city council, policy committees, and stakeholder agencies.
- Manage project contracts, monitor special funding sources, and track compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Coordinate with other departments, neighboring jurisdictions, and regional agencies to ensure alignment of project goals and grant requirements.
- Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience in civil engineering, including leadership of project activities.
- Eight (8) years of progressive experience may substitute for the degree.
- Strong project management skills and experience with capital project delivery.
- Proficiency in cost estimating, contract administration, and construction monitoring.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, project development, design, and construction.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, and policies.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Capability to lead and mentor engineering staff.
- Current California Civil Engineer registration.
- Valid California driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
