Sr. Electrical Engineer

Butcher Power Products, a Fresno-based manufacturer of electric motors and power transmission products, seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead design and optimization of motor and power solutions for agricultural, industrial, and commercial applications. In this role, you will own electrical design from concept through production, develop schematics and control systems, run simulations, and validate performance through lab and field testing.

You'll collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and sales teams to create reliable, cost-effective products, resolve field issues, and support custom engineered solutions in a practical, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design of electric motors and power transmission products from concept through production
• Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system architectures including VFD and starter integration
• Run simulations and calculations to verify electrical performance, efficiency, and thermal behavior
• Plan and perform lab and field testing, analyze results, and drive design improvements
• Troubleshoot and resolve product and field issues using structured root cause analysis
• Ensure designs comply with relevant UL/CE/IEC and customer specifications
• Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and reliability
• Support custom engineered solutions and proposals for key customers
• Create and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and Bills of Material
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and processes
