We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector Level III to support day-to-day quality operations while partnering closely with the Quality Manager. This role provides hands-on inspection expertise, helps prioritize inspection workloads, and offers technical leadership and mentoring within the QA team. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented inspector, and trusted problem solver who can ensure high-precision parts meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform First Article, In-Process, and Final inspections with minimal supervision
- Inspect parts to prints and 3D models using advanced inspection tools and techniques
- Develop and modify advanced CMM programs
- Coordinate daily inspection priorities with Quality leadership and production teams
- Monitor in-process production through audits; document findings and drive corrective actions
- Identify, document, and resolve DMR and CAR issues
- Inspect and review product from outside processes (heat treat, anodizing, plating, etc.)
- Complete inspection reports and verify customer certification requirements
- Enter quality data and DMRs into the ERP system
- Train and mentor junior inspectors on inspection methods, procedures, and quality standards
- Support and guide production teams in compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100
- Communicate quality issues to customers through appropriate internal channels
- Promote continuous improvement, safety compliance, and a clean work environment
- Serve as a backup to the Quality Supervisor/Manager as needed
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of hands-on inspection experience in manufacturing
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Proficiency with CMM software and advanced program creation
- Strong experience using calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparator
, and other precision inspection tools - Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems
- Experience inspecting machined parts and understanding metal fabrication and machine shop processes
- Knowledge of raw material certifications and outside processing requirements
- Completion of company print-reading training (or equivalent proficiency)
- Experience with Keyence Instant Measurement Systems
- Prior leadership, mentoring, or lead-inspector experience
- ERP data entry related to quality and non-conformance reporting
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, and move throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Use of hands and fingers for inspection equipment and part handling
- Exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including noise, fumes, moving machinery, and hot components
- Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and color differentiation
