Commercial Construction Plumber – Job Description
A Commercial Construction Plumber is responsible for installing plumbing systems for commercial projects in the private sector. The ideal candidate will work effectively within construction schedules, follow plans and specifications, and uphold quality and safety standards throughout each project.
Required Qualifications- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial construction plumbing experience.
- Possession of all essential plumbing hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Willingness to participate in training and skill-development programs.
- Proven mechanical aptitude through assessments or work history.
- Commitment to maintaining job-site safety standards and OSHA compliance.
- Ability to work from 28’ extension ladders and 12’ step ladders and lifts
- Ability to safely operate power tools, hand tools, pipe threaders, concrete coring equipment.
- Install complete plumbing systems for commercial buildings, including waste, vent, water, gas, and storm systems.
- Layout and plan piping systems according to blueprints, specifications, and project requirements.
- Cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install pipes using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Install fixtures, equipment, supports, hangers, and related components.
- Perform pressure tests, water tests, and system checks to ensure proper functionality and code compliance.
- Coordinate work with general contractors, foremen, project managers, and other trades on the job site.
- Maintain an organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are used safely and efficiently.
- Follow project schedules and complete tasks within assigned timelines.
- Use company software or logs to document installations, materials used, and job progress as required.
- Ensure installations comply with local/state plumbing codes, building codes, and industry standards.
- Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
- Perform other construction-related duties as assigned.

- Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, balance, reach overhead, talk, and hear.
- Frequent use of hands for handling tools, materials, and pipe components.
- Ability to lift and/or move 50–100 lbs periodically.
- Required vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Work is performed on active commercial construction job sites.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions depending on project stage.
- Work may involve confined spaces, elevated work areas, trenches, and uneven terrain.
