The Social Work Supervisor oversees Social Workers (Coordinator Emphasis & Certification Emphasis as assigned) and all aspects of services provided to Individuals living in a Family Home. Responsibilities include ensuring quality services, staff oversight, superior customer service to stakeholders, and adherence to internal and external policies and regulations.
Responsibilities- Uphold the mission and vision of Enriching Lives and collaborate with Individuals to support a well-rounded, satisfying life.
- Ensure service delivery to Individuals in accordance with their Individual Service Plan and applicable policies/regulations.
- Provide clinical and crisis management support to Individuals, Employees, and Providers.
- Maintain knowledge of clinical modalities, treatment standards, and community resources.
- Select, train, develop, and supervise Social Workers (Coordinator Emphasis) and other assigned staff; assign and monitor caseloads for quality and compliance.
- Act as Social Worker (Coordinator Emphasis) to new Individuals during the first 30 days and carry an assigned caseload.
- Manage employees through training, coaching, performance evaluations, and progressive discipline when necessary.
- Promote and market programs to Individuals, families, funding sources, community agencies, and potential providers.
- Monitor and support Family Home Providers in service provision and implementation of Individual Service Plans.
- Assist with referral and matching processes for Individuals and, as needed, recruitment of Providers.
- Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, policies, contracts, and legal requirements; maintain required documentation.
- Assist Individuals with transportation and moving as needed.
- Liaise with consultants (behaviorists, nurses, therapists, psychologists, and other specialists).
- Collaborate with external partners and service providers to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide excellent customer service and timely responses to Individuals, families, Regional Center, and Family Home Providers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Individuals, families, funding sources, and regulatory agencies; monitor satisfaction with services.
- Act as Program Administrator during the Program Administrator’s absence.
- Conduct training and continuing education classes as assigned.
- Support and cover other program positions during development and transition; perform other duties as assigned, including special projects.
- Supervisory Requirements – Manage and supervise Social Workers (Coordinator Emphasis) and other staff, including orientation, training, coaching, scheduling, performance evaluations, and hiring/discipline decisions. Resolve employee issues within scope.
- Education and/or Experience – Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related social services field;
Master’s degree preferred. 3–5 years of social service experience, 2–3 years of management experience. Strong problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills. Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities. Team-oriented, proficient in Microsoft Office. - Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business materials; write reports and business correspondence; effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Mathematical Skills – Ability to perform common arithmetic, rate/ratio/percent calculations, and interpret graphs.
- Reasoning Ability – Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions and manage multiple variables.
- Vision – Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception; ability to adjust focus.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – First Aid and CPR certification; valid driver’s license and insurance; driving record compliance.
- Other Requirements – Safe and reliable vehicle; ability to travel as required; must meet federal, state, and internal employment requirements including background checks and health screenings.
- Physical Demands – Include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, driving; refer to the chart in the original description for exact time allocations.
- Working Environment – May involve working in varied environments with routine exposure to community settings; occasional exposure to environmental risks as described in the original description.
