Position Description
Chaffey College is seeking individuals from a broad range of cultural heritages, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, abilities, and orientations. We are particularly interested in faculty who fully demonstrate their understanding of the community we serve; the benefits of equity, diversity, and inclusion in a professional and educational setting; and the value of bringing people together, empowering diverse voices, and supporting a sense of belonging.
Situated on the ancestral homeland of the Tongva Peoples, Chaffey College is one of the oldest community colleges in California and serves a variety of communities, workforce partners, and students. The college emphasizes an innovative culture, a dynamic environment, and future-mindedness. We commit to remaining at the front edge of transformational practices, investing in faculty growth, co-designing and leading initiatives that positively impact students, and advancing their educational goals.
The college strives to fulfill its vision of improving lives through education, remains dedicated to continuous improvement, and seeks faculty who will contribute to ongoing transformation. Chaffey College celebrates the diverse communities it serves and, as a federally recognized Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), reports the following student demographics and access indicators: over 64% identifying as Latinx, 13% White, 7% African-American/Black, 6% Asian, 5% multi-racial/other, and smaller percentages of Filipino, Pacific Islander, Native American, or decline to state.
Approximately 40% of students are first-generation college students; about 62% are eligible for some form of financial aid. The current student population includes roughly 59% female and 38% male, with other gender identities represented as well. About 5% of students use Disabled Programs and Services for support. To support these populations, the College has developed equity-driven initiatives including the Center for Culture and Social Justice, Panther Care, Rising Scholars, Success Centers, Guiding Panthers to Success (GPS) Centers, and BLOOM training.
Faculty must provide culturally-responsive instruction and support for all students’ needs and goals, and contribute to ongoing efforts to improve student success. New faculty are being sought to contribute to the College’s ongoing transformation.
This is a full-time, tenure-track Broadcasting and Cinema instructor position in the Arts, Communication, and Design Academic and Career Community. Under the direction of the Dean, the assignment provides a full professional service week throughout the 176-day academic calendar. The assignment is for the Rancho campus and may include teaching at the Chino and Fontana campuses.
Chaffey College is committed to achieving equally high outcomes for all students. Successful candidates will share our vision and work to help all students, regardless of background and level of preparation, to achieve their educational goals. Faculty contributions include active participation in college governance and ongoing professional learning.
