Overview
Learn Academy in Victorville is seeking a full‑time Special Education Teacher with an Extensive Support Need credential. The position offers a $5,000 sign‑on bonus, tuition reimbursement, relocation assistance and a structured induction program to clear credential requirements.
Program HighlightsOur FACS program serves students with Autism and/or on the Autism Spectrum, using the STAR (Strategies for Teaching Based on Autism Research) program and the Unique Learning System. Classrooms are limited to no more than 12 students and emphasize standards‑based instruction and differentiated learning tools.
Learn Academy is a private K‑12 Day School approved by the California Department of Education, providing Special Education Services to students with Mild to Moderate Disabilities. The school employs a highly structured Positive Behavioral Supports program and trains all staff in a unique methodology that promotes Positive Choice‑Making.
Compensation & BenefitsThe role offers a competitive compensation plan, comprehensive benefits, 401(k) plan, paid holidays and personal time off. Tuition reimbursement is available up to $2,000 per year and relocation assistance is available for out‑of‑state candidates.
ResponsibilitiesSpecial Education Teachers work in a school‑based setting and are responsible for creating an educational environment where students reach their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans.
- Delivering instructional activities that foster active engagement in meaningful learning experiences.
- Selecting and adapting instructional resources to meet diverse student needs.
- Maintaining a positive environment that encourages active learning.
- Valid California Special Education Credential for Moderate to Severe Disabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least one year of experience working with students with emotional disabilities preferred.
- Spanish speaking a plus, not required.
Employee must be able to maintain various postures (stoop, reach, stand, kneel, squat, sit, walk, lift, pull, grasp) for extended periods and implement safety measures such as therapeutic holds and safe transportation procedures for students with special needs.
