Education:
Equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade PLUS 2 years (48 sem. or 72 qtr. units) of college study OR an Associates (A.A.) Degree or higher, OR an Instructional Aide Proficiency Certificate dated after May 2003. This certificate exam can be administered by ALSD, if needed. Applicants in need of certificate will be supported by ALSD for successful assessment results.
Applicants who have received a proficiency certificate are also required to complete a writing assessment administered by ALSD.
Experience:
No previous experience needed. If selected the following are required:
Fingerprint verification at an approximate cost of $64 to the employee;
Proof of TB clearance (within 4 years) at employee's cost or a "Certificate of Completion" signed by a licensed health care provider for the Adult TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire;
Certificate of Completion for the CA Mandated Reporter Training dated after July 1, 2026.
