The Position: A Utility Locating Technician is responsible for accurately locating underground utilities in a variety of terrain, weather conditions, and residential, commercial, & industrial areas.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and map location and depth of utilities such as water, sewer, gas, cable, oil and electric lines,
- Document interactions, site information and utilities in organizational software.
- Communicate with clients, engineers and management,
- Ability to read utility maps and as-builts,
- Use a variety of techniques (electrical, magnetic, GPS, blueprint analysis, and/or radar) to accurately locate underground utilities,
- Prepare field notes and document site conditions as related to project requirements,
- Conduct preliminary research and put together field request packages,
- Work as part of team in covering field services which may include utility investigation, locating, inspections, land survey activities, traffic control and more.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent,
- 3+ years’ experience in utility detection work,
- Prior experience with electromagnetic locating equipment (RD 8100) preferred,
- Prior experience with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) preferred,
- Be physically able to lift up to 75 pounds,
- Be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods,
- Ability to travel overnight and out of town,
- Ability to work on several concurrent projects,
- Excellent technical and communication skills.
