Your New Role
  • Serve as the executive accountable for the company’s financial strategy, financial operations, reporting, treasury, internal controls, and financial risk management across all locations.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO/owner and executive leadership team by translating financial and operational information into actionable insights, identifying risks and opportunities, challenging assumptions, and supporting short- and long-term strategic planning.

  • Lead financial planning for growth initiatives, new locations, service-line expansion, staffing requirements, capital needs, financing alternatives, and other strategic investments.

  • Manage short- and medium-term cash flow, maintaining clear visibility into the company’s liquidity position and ensuring obligations are met without disruption to operations.

  • Own the annual operating and capital budgeting process, rolling financial forecasts, and monthly budget-to actual reviews, including projections for revenue, gross margin, overhead, EBITDA, cash flow, staffing, capital expenditures, and financing requirements.

  • Establish and monitor meaningful company wide financial and operational key performance indicators that provide leadership with clear visibility into profitability, productivity, cash flow, backlog, working capital, and overall business performance.

  • Measure and report profitability by location, state, department, service line, customer, contract, and project; identify margin deterioration, cost overruns, and operational inefficiencies; and partner with operational and sales leaders on corrective actions.

  • Own the accuracy and effective use of job-cost and work-in-progress reporting, including cost-to-complete estimates, billing position, and project margin performance.

  • Partner with operations and sales on pricing and margin strategy, evaluating labor rates, service pricing, material markups, subcontractor costs, contract terms, travel costs, project risks, and expected cash flow to ensure growth produces acceptable profitability and returns.

  • Lead working-capital management, including financial oversight of billing, accounts receivable, collections, unbilled work, retainage, accounts payable, inventory, purchasing terms, and vendor-payment strategy.
