Role
:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Data & Analytics and in collaboration with IT and Quality Leadership, the Nurse Informaticist leverages critical thinking, clinical workflow expertise, analytics, and change management strategies to identify and facilitate the adoption of clinical information systems and technologies that support and improve the accurate capture and reporting of data elements that ultimately improve the clinician and patient experience, quality reporting and outcomes.
The Nurse Informaticist serves as the primary liaison between external clinical teams and IEHP operations, quality and information technology. The role identifies opportunities and facilitates the identification and implementation of solutions utilizing evidence-based practices, data, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement techniques. It is responsible for enhancing the nursing and clinical teams’ use of technology and analytics to improve the health of populations.

The Nurse Informaticist leads and/or collaborates on:
- Identifying opportunities and facilitating adoption of clinical information systems and technologies
- Leveraging clinical workflow expertise, analytics, and change management to improve data capture and reporting
- Enhancing nursing and clinical teams’ use of technology and analytics to improve population health
- Collaborating with IT, Quality, and external clinical teams to implement evidence-based practices and meet regulatory requirements

- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical/health information systems or similar experience required
- Experience in enterprise grade EMR build/maintenance, preferably Epic or Cerner
- Master’s degree in Nursing Informatics, Health Informatics, or a related field from an accredited institution required
- In lieu of a Master’s degree, a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of additional relevant work experience is required for this position. This experience is in addition to the minimum years listed in the Experience Requirements above.
- Quality-based certification a plus. Certification in informatics or related fields preferred
- Possession of an active, unrestricted, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the California BRN preferred.

Pay Range
