The purpose of this recruitment is to fill Maintenance Technician vacancies in the Parks, Facilities, and Streets division. This position may work up to 35 hours per week.

Performing repetitive functions including, but not limited to, weeding, landscape maintenance, janitorial duties, graffiti removal, and tree trimming. Additional duties may include painting, restoration, and minor plumbing. Expected to perform all related duties as required.
Facilities:
Basic janitorial and facilities maintenance within all of the city facilities, including Fire District facilities.
Parks Landscape Maintenance:
Basic landscape maintenance in City parks and professional/recreational ball field maintenance.
Streets:
Street maintenance including, but not limited to, asphalt and concrete repair, storm drain maintenance, traffic sign maintenance, and large debris pick-up in public right-of-way.
First Review - Week of February 10, 2025 Drop-In Panel Interview:
February 18, 2025, from 7:00am - 4:00pm
These interviews will be held in-person during a one-day hiring event. You will be notified of your status immediately following your interview and if selected, provided a conditional offer of employment same day.
Education and/or Experience:
Ability to read, write, and apply common sense standards in carrying out oral and written instruction. Ability to perform manual labor under extreme weather conditions. Some maintenance experience preferred.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
:
Knowledge of methods, common tools and equipment used in public works construction and maintenance work; basic safety precautions and procedures. Ability to perform skilled and unskilled maintenance work; operate and perform routine maintenance and servicing of a variety of power-driven equipment and power tools; understand and follow verbal and written instructions; work safely and efficiently with others; deal tactfully with the public.
Special Requirements:
- Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends.
- Physical demands include frequent lifting of objects over 50 lbs., often combined with bending and/or twisting.
