The Community Services Department’s mission is to engage the community by providing opportunities to play, celebrate, grow, and be entertained through premier programs, outstanding services, and positive environments, creating life-long memories. The department operates the Epicenter Sports Complex, RC Family Resources Center, RC Sports Center, Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, Goldy S. Lewis Community Center, and James L. Brulte Senior Center. In addition to the above-listed facilities, more than 30 different parks are open to the community for passive use, park shelters and event rentals, hiking trails, athletic fields, and city-planned special events.

The Supervisor position operates within the Human Services Division, under the direction of the Human Services Superintendent, and is responsible for delivering high-quality programs and services to seniors, youth, and families. The position will lead operations for the City’s south-west neighborhood community center (9791 Arrow Route), scheduled to reopen in 2027. The center will offer classes, community services, and facility rentals, and serve as a vibrant hub that engages residents of all ages and abilities, while upholding the City’s standard of excellence.
In addition to neighborhood center leadership, this role manages a diverse portfolio of special projects and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include contributing to capital improvement efforts through planning support and contract coordination; collaborating with the leadership team to update departmental policies, procedures, and standard operating practices; preparing award submissions by partnering with staff to develop compelling narratives; identifying and pursuing grant opportunities and ensuring ongoing grant stewardship;
and providing direct oversight of the City’s volunteer program, which includes more than 1,000 volunteers supporting programs and events citywide. This position also supports departmental emergency response readiness and continuity planning by maintaining documentation and forms, coordinating training efforts, and ensuring facility preparedness.
