Food Manufacturing Technician

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for operating equipment to accurately utilize raw ingredients and create flavor products. The role requires a strong adherence to safety, quality, and operational procedures, along with the effective use of tools and electronic/computer systems for compounding and container filling. The standard shift is from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment to accurately utilize raw ingredient materials in a precise manner to create flavor product.
• Ensure understanding of all safety, quality, and operational procedures relevant to the role.
• Utilize tools and electronic/computer systems for compounding and container filling.
• Use computer, scan gun, or other tools to correctly match ingredients to shop orders.
• Follow production, safety, quality, and operational procedures to verify and record information during production process.
• Ensure proper ventilation and use of safety equipment.
• Develop understanding of Quality Control requirements for sampling, product testing, and swabbing of equipment, and follow policies surrounding Quality Control needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential

Skills:

• 1-2 years of manufacturing or production experience ideally in a pharmaceutical, food, or nutraceutical environment.
• Knowledge of machine operating and production.
• Strong knowledge and emphasis on safety.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math skills, including ratios and weighing of product.
• Knowledge of FDA/GMP regulations.
• Ability to follow procedures and directions to properly identify product and follow formulas.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift 50-75+ lbs on a regular basis.

Additional Skills &

Qualifications:

• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Good attitude and ability to learn.
• Motivation and willingness to take initiative.

Work Environment:

The work environment is within a flavor and fragrances manufacturing company, specializing in sweet flavors such as strawberry, root beer, and peanut butter. The team consists of 15 people, requiring the ability to work independently and take initiative.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
