Job Title: QC Lead - 1st Shift

Department:
Quality Assurance (QA)

Reports To: QA Manager

Job Summary:

The QC Lead for 1st Shift is responsible for supervising and leading Quality Control (QC) operations, across all areas, ensuring all processes are properly executed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily QC operations for noodle, soup, broth, and receiving areas.
  • Support and guide QC Technicians on resolving issues.
  • Assist with training and development of QC staff.
  • Ensure QC tasks, inspections, and records are completed and verified.
  • Monitor employee safety practices and report any issues.
  • Make sure pre-operational sanitation pendings are addressed.
  • Ensure specific lab testing, such as oil AV and POV, is completed.
  • Oversee environmental swabbing, including allergen testing.
  • Ensure GMPs and sanitary operations are followed and maintained.
  • Review and verify SQF, food safety, and quality records.
  • Ensure proper execution of sensory analysis and inspections.
  • Report deficiencies and assist in corrective actions.
  • Ensure effective pass-down of information between shifts.
  • Coordinate and ensure end-of-week sanitation is monitored, and results are reported.
  • Support QA Management with special projects and audits.
  • Assist with annual SQF Training of employees and other trainings as needed.
  • Fill in for QC Technicians in all area as needed.
  • Be available to work various shifts if needed.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in English and math skills. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Experience in the food industry is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory testing procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and collaborative within a team environment.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge or experience in SQF & GMPs.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials.
Work Environment:
  • The position operates mostly in a manufacturing & warehouse environment, with some office work.
Schedule:
  • Full-time
  • 1st shift
