Summary
The Quality Process Controller is responsible for the monitoring the production of forgings to ensure the quality and customer requirements are met. The role also performs forge process audits and supports furnace pyrometry compliance.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.
- Records critical “in process” parameters in forge environment including:
- Optical pyrometer readings for tooling and material (on and off die) temperature.
- Furnace soak times and forging time as well as ramp-up time.
- Extracts rolling parameters and tonnage data from specific ring-roll mills/presses.
- Reports any “in process” non-conformances to the Quality Department and other appropriate parties.
- Maintains and archives documentation as per company procedures.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and measure parts in accordance with blueprints.
- Must have correctable vision to meet the requirements of company work instructions and procedures.
- Interface with other departments.
- Must have understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions.
- Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and quality and procedures.
- Performs furnace pyrometry activities (i.e. SAT’s, furnace inspection, etc).
- Support calibration of furnaces, tools and optical pyrometers.
- Perform Quality Forge and Forge Furnace Audits
- Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Minimum two year of manufacturing experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
