Assistant Bakery Manager

• Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Take responsibility for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team.
• Execute rotation of merchandise and build displays.
• Monitor incoming cases for damaged items.
• Ensure delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery products.
• Unload and sort store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment.
• Execute all company health, safety and sanitation guidelines and ensure other Bakery team members are aware of and following these procedures.

• Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years’ retail grocery experience and two years of supervisory experience.
• Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Exhibit an outgoing and friendly behavior, maintain a positive attitude, and interact effectively with our customers.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction in a team environment.
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize the work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
• Operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed; use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Stand for up to 3 hours continuously for an 8‑hour shift; vertically transfer trays up to 5 lb, from 7” to 64”, for up to 10 hours, and vertically/horizontally transfer items up to 40 lb, from 5” to 36”, over a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights & Measures regulations, and obtain and maintain a Food Handlers permit.

The pay range for this position is $17.30 – $24.20 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications.
