You will be responsible for:

  • Using power and hand tools.
  • Performing custodial work, including cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and stocking supplies.
  • Painting interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Performing minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Striping and refinishing floors, cleaning carpets.
  • Repairing locks, minor carpentry, and metal work.
  • Using aerial towers and bucket trucks (height not an issue).
  • Assisting with setup, breakdown, and maintenance at City events.

This role requires working on an alternating shift schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year of construction or maintenance experience, or equivalent training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of tools and methods used in public works maintenance.
  • Ability to perform skilled and unskilled maintenance work, operate equipment, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work safely, efficiently, and tactfully with the public.

Special requirements:

  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver's license and a good driving record.
