Position: Controls Technician - Aerospace/Manufacturing (2nd Shift 1:30pm - 10:00pm)

Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) in Rancho Cucamonga is currently looking for a Controls Technician on 2nd Shift (1:30pm – 10:00pm) to join our team! They will be reporting to our Maintenance Supervisor at our aerospace foundry in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Hourly Rate: $32 - $36 DOE

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Installation and Maintenance - Installing, calibrating, and maintaining automated control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and other automation equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair - Identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing issues with control systems and related equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Preventive Maintenance - Implementing and performing routine maintenance procedures to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Programming and Testing - Programming and testing control systems to ensure they meet specifications and operate correctly.
  • Calibration and Adjustment - Calibrating and adjusting sensors, transmitters, and other components to ensure accurate reading and proper system operation.
  • Data Analysis - Analyzing data from control systems to identify trends, potential problems, and areas for improvement.
  • Documentation - Maintaining detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and system configurations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education
    - High school diploma. Certifications/Licenses:
    None
  • Technical Expertise

    - Experience:

    At least three years’ hands‑on electromechanical experience. PLC troubleshooting and programing skills. Variable Frequency Drive troubleshooting and integration experience. Strong understanding of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, as well as programming and control systems.
  • Problem‑Solving
    - Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues with control systems and equipment.
  • Analytical Skills
    - Ability to analyze data and interpret technical information to identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Communication
    - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate technical information to various stakeholders.
  • Computer Proficiency
    - Proficiency in using computer software and tools for programming, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Safety Awareness
    - Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to electrical and mechanical systems.
  • In depth knowledge of “foundry” trades with 3+ years’ experience in electronic systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems. Knowledge in the use of electrical testing equipment. Knowledge of troubleshooting tree. PLC troubleshooting skill. Skilled in use of standard mechanical hand tools. Good interpersonal skills. Good follow‑up skills. Ability to troubleshoot majority of hi‑tech plant equipment with no supervision. Ability to read electrical prints and troubleshoot equipment from 24 “DC”volt to 480 “AC”volt.

    Ability to operate mobile maintenance equipment: forklift, scissor lift, man lift.
  • Ability to read blueprints. Ability to read electrical and electronic schematics. Ability to troubleshoot and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). Ability to interact with a wide variety of people. Self‑control. Persistence. Detail orientation. Curiosity about new products and processes. Good judgment.
