Under the direction of the Operations Controller, the Tax Reporting Specialist will ensure that the Casino is in compliance with the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) regarding the filing of Form(s) W-2G, Certain Gambling Winnings, Form(s) 5754, Statement By Person(s) Receiving Gambling Winnings, 1042-S, Foreign Person’s U.S. Source Income Subject to Withholding, and Form(s) 1099 related to reportable gambling winnings, awards, prizes and/or contest winnings with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)- Conduct a daily reconciliation of all Form(s) W-2G, 5754 and 1042-S in regard to reportable gambling winnings.
- Ensure the correct coding of Form(s) W-2G, 5754 and 1042-S is filed with the IRS in regard to the income tax withholding rate as well as the EIN, country, recipient name and amount of tax withheld, if any. Make accurate corrections as necessary based on the above review.
- Provide staff accountant with federal tax liability information according to payment schedules set by the IRS.
- Respond accordingly with accurate information to inquiries from other departments.
- Reconcile totals for all Form(s) W-2G and 1042-S on a weekly and monthly basis and provide reconciliation to the Accounting Department.
- Assist in the processing of customer requests for copies of Forms W-2G, 1042-S, and Win/Loss statements.
- Assist in locating and providing necessary files for internal and outside auditors.
- Prepare, conduct and timely transmit all Form(s) W-2G, 1042-S and 1099 complied with the IRS by filing deadlines established by the IRS.
- Assist accounting staff in the daily operations and special projects as assigned.
- Provide excellent guest service.
- Adhere to all Tribal Ordinance, Regulations, and the ACCRS and SRC System of Internal Controls, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications:Required
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 1-2 years office experience, accounting experience preferred or a combination of education and experience.
- Retail, payroll or accounts payable experience a plus. 1099 Pro experience preferred.
- Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to communicate in English.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1.5 miles, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/workstation for the duration of the shift. Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment.
Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will increase when located in the casino environment.
Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and have sufficient dexterity of hand to use office equipment including, but not limited to, a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
