Job Objective

Records, verifies, analyzes, consolidates, and enters transactions ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial information; works independently with minimal direction.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (if hired after April1,2025).

Licensure / Certification

None required.

Experience

Required:

Three (3) years of accounting experience. Preferred:
Experience in healthcare.

Essential Responsibilities

Demonstrate compliance with the Code of Conduct and related policies, taking action to resolve questions or concerns and report suspected violations.

Perform key tasks in the month‑end close process by analyzing accounts and gathering data to prepare journal entries, using professional judgement to identify items of concern and report them to department leadership.

Maintain subsidiary ledgers monthly, ensuring alignment with the general ledger and resolving any discrepancies.

Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other specified general ledger accounts monthly; determine required adjustments or restatements and advise department leadership promptly.

Prepare regulatory, tax, and external report filings on a quarterly and/or annual basis as required.

Produce month‑end financial statements in accordance with GAAP, preparing analytical narratives to support statements and explain variances to budget or prior year within specified time frames.

Stay current with GAAP and reporting requirements for not‑for‑profit organizations in the healthcare industry, exercising independent judgement in interpreting regulations and their application to the Hospital’s financial reporting, and participate in educational and training opportunities.

Document all policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.

Protect the organization by keeping information secure and confidential.

Prepare annual audit schedules according to time schedules and assist independent auditors as needed.

Assist in the development of operating and capital budgets as requested.

Evaluate and advise on financial operations, including appropriate recording of revenue, expenses, and financial commitments.

Participate in cross‑training as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.
