Job Description & Requirements

Fusion Medical Staffing-Therapy is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for a 13‑week assignment in Rancho Mirage, California, starting 04/06/2026. The position requires 40 hours per week, 8‑hour days, and is a travel role.

Required Qualifications
  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology
  • Experience in Speech Language Pathology (new graduates welcome)
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Summary

The Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. Working in a variety of settings, the SLP develops and implements individualized treatment plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive‑communication abilities, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers to improve communication outcomes and quality of life.

Essential Work Functions
  • Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population
  • Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices
  • Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home exercises, and safe swallowing practices, offering supportive counseling as required
  • Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate a comprehensive approach to patient care
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients’ comfort needs during therapy sessions
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in speech‑language therapy
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
