Job Objective

Supports the core functions of EMC clinical applications to enable cost-effective, high quality, efficient, and safe patient care. This position will implement, administer, and support assigned clinical systems under the guidance of the Information Systems Management team. This position will have a thorough understanding of assigned applications, ancillary systems, and health system operations. This position will address issues and design decisions of moderate to high complexity and deliver clear communication and documentation of complex concepts and issues related to applications, interfaces, data structures, and workflows across the organization.

This position also manages software upgrades and maintenance as well as serves as Project Manager for major Information Systems projects. Coordinates application support with other information technology teams including System Administrators, DBA, Networking, Reporting, and the Help Desk. Implement changes using documented procedures that are compliant with department’s policies and procedures. Provide solutions to work orders, trouble tickets and projects for assigned departments.

Required:

Relevant degree or experience in lieu of degree

Bachelor’s Degree

Licensure / Certification

Certification(s) required for those positions supporting an Epic application.

Experience

Required:

Two (2) years of Application/Epic Analyst experience.

Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relations with peers, users and vendors, Ability to teach/train other staff, Demonstrated knowledge and experience in PMO methodology and tools, Excellent communication skills, Excellent oral and written skills, Experience with the assigned applications desirable (Epic Certification if applicable), Experience working in an acute healthcare setting or vendor setting, Facilitation skills, strong organization skills, team building skills, PC Computer skills using MS Office, Internet Browsers, Email, Previous system analyst experience at a senior level, Proven experience in project managing major projects, Working knowledge of and experience using healthcare applications.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
  • Acts as a liaison between assigned departments, clinical end users and I.S. technical personnel.
  • Assists in the coordination and maintenance of all current systems for assigned departments and troubleshoots issues and documents for vendor resolution.
  • Supports the departments and staff during, and post implementation, of assigned applications/systems.
  • Provides at the elbow support for providers and end users as needed during and after clinical system upgrades.
  • Analyzes current systems and processes in order to identify opportunities for improvement in patient care, provider productivity, financial outcomes and ancillary relations or cost savings.
  • Identify and assist with planning for, and developing, department‑specific requirements for future product acquisitions.
  • Performs written and oral project status reporting on a regular basis as requested.
  • Communicates with IS staff members, vendors and users, and facilitates communication between these groups to identify system needs, modifications, and/or issues. Works with these groups to reach resolution of issues, define necessary modifications and dEvelop solutions.
  • Analyzes user‑requested programming changes, documents requests, facilitates communication between users and IS staff.
  • Works with vendors to determine, review and document acceptance of system changes. Facilitates communications between IS personnel and vendor representatives.
