Provides direct patient care and support to a multidisciplinary health team working within the scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner (NP). Serves as a clinical expert through patient education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and consultation, while maintaining program excellence and professional growth. Responsible for developing comprehensive care plans, coordinating patient care, delivering ongoing treatment while fostering a strong patient‑provider relationship. Committed to cost‑effective care management, optimizing resource utilization, and enhancing patient experiences through continuous process improvement.
Educationand Certification
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Active and unrestricted California licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP).
- Nurse Practitioner Furnishing (NPF) license number from the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
- Current board certification as NP by a nationally accredited organization in a population focus area.
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate to dispense controlled substances (II‑V).
- National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from AHA required upon hire.
- Adult Acute Care or Adult Gerontological Acute Care board certification required by December 31, 2028 if assigned to inpatient clinical care in specified departments.
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) from American College of Surgeons required by July 1, 2027 for certain inpatient specialty programs.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from AHA required upon hire if assigned to specific departments.
- Behavioral Health Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) board certification required if assigned to specified behavioral health programs.
- Experience as an NP providing care in an acute or ambulatory setting in the assigned area of specialty.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience with acute stroke and other neurovascular emergencies if assigned to Inpatient Specialty Programs.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience with general surgery/trauma if assigned to Trauma ACS/APPs.
Reports to:
Director, Chief Administrative Officer or Service Line Administrator. Supervises: N/A.
Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric.
