Position: Registered Nurse (RN)-2N LDRP

Job Summary

Provides direct patient care, collaborates with patients, families, peers, physicians and other members of the health care team in the delivery of health care services to a specific patient population. Assesses patient’s needs, plans care, implements and evaluates patient care in accordance with the patient’s needs based on the nurse’s knowledge of growth/development, the hospital and nursing philosophy, policies/procedures and standards.

Demonstrates leadership skills and a commitment to professional accountability and growth.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree in Nursing, or enrollment in an RN‑BSN or RN‑MSN program within one (1) year of hire and completion within five (5) years of hire if hired after July 1, 2012.
  • Experience:

    Minimum one (1) year of acute care RN experience or successful completion of Eisenhower’s Nurse Residency Program.
  • Certification:
    California Registered Nurse (RN) licensure;
    Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire.
Licensure & Certifications
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from AHA – required upon hire and additional certifications based on assigned department. Representative codes: 6400 2N LDRP 7010 Emergency Room, 6010 Intensive Care Units, 6173 Vascular AP4S, 6174 Renker Pavilion 1E 7420 Surgery Main, 7426 Perianesthesia – EDOSC, 7427 Perianesthesia – Main Surgery, 7428 Special Procedures, 7429 Perianesthesia – Same Day Surgery DHOC, 7430 Surgery Same Day DHOC, 7431 EDOSC Surgery, 7570 Cardiac Cath Lab, 7571 Electro Physiology Lab, 7581 EDCC Cardiology Clinic, 7588 EDCC OP Cardiovascular Testing, 7590 Cardiology 7630 Radiology Main, 7631 Interventional Radiology, 7760 GI Lab, 7761 Mirage Endoscopy.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from AHA – required upon hire for specific departments. Representative codes: 7426 Perianesthesia – EDOSC, 7427 Perianesthesia – Main Surgery, 7429 Perianesthesia – Same Day Surgery DHOC, 7431 EDOSC Surgery, 7630 Radiology Main, 7631 Interventional Radiology.

  • Obstetric/Neonatal Nursing (ONP) Certification – required for Labor RN only. Representative codes: 6400 2N LDRP (as Labor RN only).
  • Oncology Nurse Certification – required within three (3) years if hired after January 1, 2022. Representative codes: 7641 Main Infusion, 7643 Hem/Onc Infusion (LCCC), 7646 Hem/Onc Infusion (Rancho Plaza), 7647 Hem/Onc Bighorn Infusion (Argyros).
  • Hyperbaric Certification – required within one (1) year of hire. Representative codes: 7070 Wound Care Clinic (Warke).
Experience

Requires at least one (1) year of acute care RN experience or successful completion of Eisenhower’s Nurse Residency Program.

Reporting

Reports to:

Clinical Manager or Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates compliance with the Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
  • Assesses patients utilizing age‑specific data, evaluating physical, psychosocial, and spiritual status in a comprehensive manner; provides accurate assessment based on scientific facts and principles.
  • Performs initial assessment and completes required documentation within organizational standards.
  • Performs and documents ongoing assessments including observation, physical examination, laboratory/test results, and patient response to procedural interventions.
  • Participates in the identification and clarification of patient needs, evidenced by participation in multidisciplinary care planning, to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Reviews and revises the plan of care according to changes in patient status.
  • Completes patient classification for assigned patients as required.
  • Implements plan of care according to identified physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
  • Utilizes the Relationship‑Based Care Professional Practice Model to guide all interactions between patients, families, co‑workers, staff, physicians, and self.
