Provides patient care and multidisciplinary ambulatory team support and drives evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes as a dyad leadership partner with regional ambulatory clinical manager. Serves as clinical expert by educating patients and clinical staff, consulting with healthcare professionals, and implementing quality improvement initiatives. Identifies gaps in care, develops and evaluates interventions, and optimizes resource utilization to ensure cost-effective, high-quality health care.
Provides clinical role specialty education to ambulatory clinical staff through informal and formal education programs to meet identified care gaps. Supports and delivers staff onboarding, initial & ongoing competency management, skills assessment & development, and career-long opportunities for professional growth. Exhibits clinical excellence in ambulatory care nursing practice by serving as a leader, patient advocate, change agent, and role model.
Guides clinical practice and performance by streamlining workflows for efficiency and effectiveness. Assists in accreditation and regulatory educational requirements and documentation.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s in Nursing
- California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- American Heart Association BLS
- ANCC Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC) or will obtain within 12 months of hire
- Three (3) years of nursing experience in an acute hospital or ambulatory care clinical setting
- Preferred:
Clinical education and professional development experience; experience as a clinical leader/ charge nurse or preceptor
Clinical Director, Chief Administrative Officer, or Service Line Administrator with dotted line to Senior Director-Nursing Professional Development

- Knowledge of professional nursing, professional development and leadership principles, practices, concepts and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served
- Self-motivated and assists with education of clinical staff to facilitate change and improve processes
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of evidence-based practice, medical guidelines, and state and federal healthcare regulations
