The Software Asset Management - Analyst I role at Applied Medical offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our enterprise software strategy while gaining hands‑on experience across a broad IT and business landscape. You will have the opportunity to work closely with local IT and cross‑functional teams to drive cost savings and improve software compliance. In this role, you'll play a supporting role in reducing our IT cost footprint by analyzing license utilization and ensuring we only pay for what we use.
You’ll also gain valuable experience with tools like Flexera and Service Now, while building expertise in IT Asset Management, licensing strategy, contract management, and software procurement.
- Troubleshoot licensing‑related issues in coordination with IT support teams.
- Review and maintain accurate license counts and entitlement records.
- Reach out to internal customers to gather software needs, usage details, and quantity requirements.
- Enter, update, and maintain software asset and license data in licensing management system.
- Ensure software asset records remain accurate and up to date across the organization.
- Communicate with stakeholders to provide licensing status, updates, and request support.
- Collaborate with IT and cross functional teams to support software procurement.
- Prepare licensing documentation and reports to support renewals, audits, and contract reviews.
- Review software licenses and coordinate with internal teams to identify unused or underused licenses.
- Provide day to day operational support for software asset management and request fulfillment.
- Support software compliance and cost savings through proactive license management.
- Ensure accurate and up‑to‑date software asset records across the organization.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to support licensing decisions and audits.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of SAM policies and reporting capabilities.
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Experience working in an IT or Technology environment.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements, and macros.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
- Proficiency in software license management tools and enterprise software agreements.
- Basic understanding of major software vendors, particularly Microsoft.
- Proficiency with Software Asset Management (SAM) tools, especially Flexera.
- Experience using Service Now for asset tracking and workflow management.
- Industry certification from the International Association of IT Asset Managers (IAITAM), such as Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM).
- Experience in technology procurement, contract review, and enterprise software management.
