Unit SummaryThe Emergency Department at Northwest Hospital sees over 60,000 patients per year and has 49 beds. The department treats major and minor illnesses, typically related to cardiac, stroke, and behavioral health, and may also care for orthopedic injuries or minor trauma. The rapid care area is designated for minor illnesses. Staff members are outgoing, positive, and must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and effectively implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms.
Responsibilities- Provide safe, age‑appropriate patient care.
- Act as an advisor and resource for patients and their families as part of the patient‑care team.
- Assess patient status, apply clinical nursing interventions, and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred from a CCNE‑accredited school.
- Must hold an active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Must have knowledge of a specialized field in emergency or critical care.
