Unit & Patient Population
- Behavioral Health Unit (BHU): 23-bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit
- 4A Unit: 12-bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit
- Emergency Department Psychiatric Pods:
- North Pod (6 beds)
- West Pod (6 beds)
- Patient populations include adults, adolescents, and children in acute psychiatric crisis
- Conditions treated include depression, schizophrenia, mood disorders, and substance use disorders
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, age-appropriate, evidence-based nursing care to psychiatric patients
- Perform ongoing mental status and safety assessments
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health providers, and social services
- Serve as a clinical resource and advocate for patients and families
- Float and cross-train across inpatient and emergency psychiatric areas as needed
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent
- RN Diploma with relevant experience accepted
- Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license
- American Heart Association CPR Certification
- Working knowledge of psychiatric nursing theory and practice
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Preferred Experience
- Behavioral Health or Psychiatric Nursing
- Emergency Department or Crisis Stabilization
- Acute Care or Critical Care nursing
