Summary

Join the Emergency Department at Northwest Hospital, where our 55-bed unit provides high-quality care to more than 49,000 patients annually. We are a primary stroke center and cardiac referral center. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse leader to oversee daily operations, support a collaborative team, and drive excellence in patient care.

Our leadership team consists of (2) Assistant Nurse Managers, Reporting to the Director, a Lead Emergency Room Technician and (2) Educators. The manager will oversee approximately 98 FTEs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate 24/7 Emergency Department operations.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Monitor quality, safety, staffing, and financial performance.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Experience in leading change management and process improvement.
  • Experience with lean principles.
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards.
Qualifications
  • Current Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience, with demonstrated leadership skills preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.
