Summary
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, high-acuity psychiatric care in inpatient and emergency settings. The role involves delivering safe, evidence-based nursing interventions, performing mental status and safety assessments, administering medications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The nurse will cross-train across various units, including adult inpatient psychiatric wards and emergency psychiatric pods, caring for patients experiencing conditions such as depression, schizophrenia, mood disorders, and substance use issues.
Qualifications- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or RN Diploma with relevant experience
- Active RN license in the applicable state
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association
- Knowledge of psychiatric nursing theory and practice
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing
- Emergency department or crisis stabilization experience
- Acute or critical care nursing
- Provide safe, patient-centered psychiatric care
- Perform mental health assessments and monitor safety
- Administer and evaluate medication responses
- Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health providers, and social services
- Serve as a resource and advocate for patients and families
- Float and cross-train across inpatient and emergency psychiatric units
