Position: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Psych)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health to provide compassionate, high-acuity psychiatric care to adults and patients in crisis across inpatient and emergency settings. This role involves delivering evidence-based nursing interventions, performing mental status and safety assessments, administering medications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The nurse will float and cross-train across various psychiatric units and emergency pods, supporting a dynamic, team-based environment focused on patient safety and recovery.

Responsibilities Include
  • Providing age-appropriate psychiatric nursing care
  • Monitoring patient responses and safety
  • Supporting interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Advocating for patients and families
  • Participating in cross-training activities to expand skills
Qualifications And Skills
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or RN Diploma with relevant experience
  • Active RN license in the state
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association
  • Knowledge of psychiatric nursing principles
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Preferred Experience
  • Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing
  • Emergency or crisis stabilization experience
  • Acute or critical care nursing background
