Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced ER RN for a 14‑week travel assignment in Randallstown, Maryland. The role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team.
Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as an ER RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certification
- TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP and SANE certifications
- Additional certifications or licenses that may be required for this position
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse delivers rapid-response, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department setting, assessing conditions, implementing urgent plans, administering life‑saving treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Work Functions- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved emergency nursing protocols
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout emergency department stay, responding to immediate needs
- Observe and document patient conditions as required within scope of practice
- Take and monitor vital signs using clinical judgment to address deviations and prevent complications
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on emergency nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols
- Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs, considering the acute nature of emergency care
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers, and support staff
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Read, write, and communicate in English; follow written and verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
Must be able to remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
Interpersonal SkillsMust work effectively with a variety of personnel, presenting a positive attitude and professionalism.
Technical/Motor SkillsMust be able to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
Mental RequirementsMust cope with frequent contact with general public, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without supervision, handle irregular activity schedules, maintain continuous concentration to detail.
SensoryMust possess visual acuity and effective communication abilities.
