Help Tell the Stories Behind the Mission

At May Institute
, our employees support children and adults with autism, brain injury, developmental disabilities, and other neurobehavioral disorders across schools, homes, residential programs, day habilitation programs, and community-based services throughout Massachusetts.

We are building something special at May - a high-performing internal marketing agency dedicated to telling the stories that matter most in human services. At the center of that effort is this role - a Digital Content & Social Media Manager who will bring those stories to life through photography, video, social media, graphic design, and digital storytelling.

In this role, you’ll help showcase the incredible work happening across May Institute by creating engaging content that highlights our employees, programs, and mission. From capturing meaningful moments in the field to producing content for digital platforms, you’ll help connect people to the impact of our work every day.

This is more than a marketing role. It’s an opportunity to help tell stories that inspire, inform, and make a difference.

What You’ll Do
  • Create compelling content: Capture photos, videos, interviews, and stories that showcase the people, programs, and mission of May Institute.
  • Manage social media channels: Plan, create, and publish content across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, and You Tube.

  • Own the content calendar: Help plan and organize content around organizational priorities, events, milestones, and storytelling opportunities.
  • Travel throughout Massachusetts: Visit programs and events to capture authentic content that reflects the impact of our work.
  • Measure and improve performance: Monitor engagement and analytics to identify what resonates with audiences and strengthen future content.
This Role Is Creative & Hands-On

This is not a sit-behind-a-desk marketing role.

You’ll spend time in the field capturing content, meeting employees, visiting programs, attending events, and creating stories that help others understand the impact of May Institute’s mission.

Why This Role Matters

Every story you tell helps people connect with the work we do.

Your content will help attract future employees, increase awareness of our services, celebrate our programs, and showcase the incredible impact our staff have on the individuals and families we serve.

That’s a powerful opportunity—and an incredibly meaningful role to play.
