Job DescriptionThe Mathematics Teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study. They will implement district-approved curriculum, document teaching and student progress, address specific student needs, provide a safe and optimal learning environment, and give feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding progress, expectations, and goals.
- Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community agencies to improve student outcomes, develop solutions, and plan curriculum.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity.
- Maintain classroom management in accordance with PBIS expectations.
- Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
- Plan and deliver effective instruction.
- Use subject matter knowledge specific for Middle School Math Teachers consistent with the MA Common Core Standards to provide targeted math supports.
- Differentiate the presentation of math content using a variety of materials for a diverse group of learners.
- Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal.
Terms and salary are according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for REA - Unit
A.
- Must be licensed in Mathematics, grades 6-8, by MA DESE.
- Must enjoy working with middle school students.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
