Randolph Community Middle School seeks a full‑time licensed Art Teacher to provide services to our diverse population of middle‑school aged students.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through district‑approved curriculum.
- Document teaching and student progress, activities and outcomes.
- Address specific needs of students and provide a safe, optimal learning environment.
- Provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.
- Collaborate with school personnel, parents and community agencies to improve student outcomes, develop solutions and plan curriculum.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity.
- Maintain classroom management and high standards of student achievement.
- Plan and deliver effective instruction to students in grades 6‑8, covering basic principles of art and its history, and artistic concepts in visual communication (drawing, painting, ceramics, design).
- Deliver and modify art curriculum in alignment with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
- Demonstrate creativity in preparing materials and projects for students with varying abilities.
- Use varied teaching practices to respond to multiple learning styles, including students with IEPs and 504 plans.
- Employ multiple assessment methods to measure knowledge and skills.
- Foster appreciation of multicultural art education.
- Facilitate three school‑based art shows and contest opportunities.
- Guide students toward portfolio development.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Massachusetts teacher license in Art.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Experience working with students in a diverse, multicultural academic setting.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
